Face in the Crowd

About 45 years ago, I had the idea of turning Budd Schulberg’s great screenplay into a Broadway-type musical. I presented the idea to Bill Caswell, who was a friend from Oklahoma University and worked for the same company as I – Ackerman Associates. He got kind of enthused about it, and started writing songs – and adding some songs he’d already written. He’s a terrific talent, as songwriter and singer, as the songs will prove to you if/as you listen to them.

NOTE: these are very early recordings, made on a very cheap cassette tape recorder, so the quality of the tape is pretty abysmal. But hopefully the quality of the music will still come through. Bill plays the guitar and sings most of them. I sing a few.
